Community Owned Projects
Around the world, people are recognizing the many benefits of wind projects owned by local communities. Such projects (typically under 10MW) dominated growth in the early days of the European wind industry and are becoming increasingly important in North America and other parts of the world today.
Our team has always believed in community based wind energy development. The experience we've gained on larger wind farms enables us to effectively navigate the myriad of tasks required to make community based projects successful. With smaller projects especially, experienced project management can make the difference between a financially successful project and disappointed owners.
An example of a recently completed community based project is the Watts Wind Project (www.wattswindproject.com). Not only did we provide project management and operation services to the project, but many of our team are shareholders.
Eon WindElectric is interested in partnering with community groups. In addition to management services, we offer equity participation and through our industry relationships, can provide project financing.
